Since the university, that i now work for, has given in to student demands of selling "name brand" foods. i bet the student are now regretting it. I’d have to say Marriott wasn't that horrible and the prices were WAY better then they are now at the "name brand" food places. Price increases of about 50% and food quality isn't any better.
I bring this all up cause I JUST went to pick up something to eat at the campus center. [i never eat on campus anymore except from the kiosks and the swimming pool snack stand] I was looking for something cheap to hold me over till lunch. I saw they had musubis. Great! The price on the sign was $1.59, which is more then the ones at the kiosks but this one looked tastier so I figured what the hell why not. I grab one and go to the cashier.
"$1.86" she states.
I hand her 2 dollars and something in my head shouts "that’s not right!" so i get my change and go back to the sign and sure enough, $1.59. Which no way in hell can make $1.86 with tax. So I go to ask the cashier about it.
She just snaps "its 1.86" just I’m a stupid retard that can't read a sign.
So I tell her the sign sitting right on top says otherwise.
She snaps back "well then it must be wrong!" and sits there like that’s ends the conversation.
I ask her "if the sign is wrong, why is it out there, sitting for everyone to see?"
She shrugs ands tell one of the worker guys "go take down the sign"
I follow him there and ask him about the inconsistency. He mutters something about the price changed.
Don't get me wrong here I’m not fighting for 20 cents. I’m fighting about the laziness and rudeness of this person. I could care less if it was the higher price as long as the sign stated it. I mean if anything like this would have happened at a normal retailer they would apologize at the least and give me some excuse about not having changed the signs yet. While most places would go one step further and give me the price shown and correct it. In a business about customer service, you would expect to be treated like customers, the life-blood of the business.
Well GG [good game] UH for allowing this company in that the students hear like cattle. But… to think of it GG students as well for asking for "name brand" food. WTF is that. How stupid and shallow can you be!! I enjoy paying $8-9 for a crappy plate lunch that can't even compare to ones bought outside of school for $6-7. ooOHH but wait its made by "Taste BBQ" [restaurant chain in Hawaii] WOW! Let me be the first to take my pants off and bend over!! Food quality has not changed and now we have to pay more to boot.
